Is this not the best location for a family of boys? As a San Diego children's photographer, I like to match the children's age with a location. As a matter of fact, trains are the perfect place to take children's photographs. I really like to capture the children in action to convey raw emotion. Sunny is my friend from High School and we have been friends for 30 years. I have three girls and she has three boys! It is kind of crazy how all that worked out! She is such a fantastic mom to these little guys that it is a joy to watch. Sunny's boys are some of the most polite and sweet natured little fellas around. In fact, these photos have captured each of the boys' personality. Being a San Diego children's photographer has been quite the experience and I learn every day from families like the Dunns. Enjoy your sneak peek, friend! Renee Hindman ... Read More about San Diego Children’s Photographer | Dunn Family
Carlsbad beach portraits | Slattery Family
It is a busy time of year on the beach in Carlsbad to have your portraits taken. This beach portrait Session in Carlsbad was so much fun. Mixing posed shots with some classic beach action is always a hit with the kids. We started just before Sunset and finished just after the sun fell below the horizon. As a Carlsbad beach Family Photographer, one of my favorite places to take photos is Terramar. There are so many looks in one location and there’s plenty of room to run around and have a great time! It’s really important to me to get those posed shots you’ll always want on your wall but I love letting the kids let loose and have fun. I learned by photographing my own girls that playful equals genuine smiles. There were hundreds of beautiful photos from this Carlsbad beach portraits session but here are a few to show you the vibe. Carlsbad family Christmas photos
Can you believe it is already time to plan your Carlsbad family Christmas photos? It is never too early to begin thinking about the Christmas photo session, the photographer and the fabulous Christmas card! Non traditional images usually end up being my favorite. As a photographer I like to shoot a lot of posed images and mix in the candid moments as well. Furthermore, If you have seen my facebook or Instagram wall it is my family completely goofing off and no one following directions. I was frustrated with the kids' behavior at the time but the image captures us perfectly! The photograph even made the back of our Christmas card. We recently had our family photos taken in Utah and my kids aired all kinds of dirty laundry! Again, mouth drop but the images are all worth it! As a matter of fact, here is one particular family photoshoot that I look forward to every year. Consequently, I have photographed this family since Avery was in kindergarten and now Aidan is in his senior year in high school! Poor Aidan has put up with all kinds of crazy fun photoshoots and not once have I ever heard him complain! The Simpson fellas definitely get extra credit for great attitudes! Mama shares the love of photography and has a beautiful ... Read More about Carlsbad family Christmas photos

Sage Creek High school Senior Photographer
Third time was the charm for this Sage Creek High School senior and I was was the lucky photographer! Good old Covid 19 had us reschedule a few times. One of the things I really enjoy about my job is talking to young people and getting to know them. Jonah was an absolute pleasure to photograph. He has style, is kind and has a great sense of humor. Two years ago I photographed his Sage Creek High School senior brother. I love that Jonah likes clean lines and cares about his wardrobe. I have had my eye on some unique locations throughout Carlsbad and we were able to hit several of them! Enjoy! All photos were taken in Carlsbad by Renee Hindman. She is now booking Class of 2021. ... Read More about Sage Creek High school Senior Photographer
How to take better camping photos of your kids
I have been a photographer in San Diego for almost 17 years and have exhausted most local backdrops with my own children. I love taking portraits of my girls when I travel and camp because they end up being the most unique. The scenery is new, beautiful and interesting when you get out of your normal routine. Throughout my adventures, I have learned a lot about how to take better camping photos of your kids and I would like to share them with you. Our family loves to camp! It is one of our favorite activities to do. It is such a wonderful thing to unplug and enjoy nature. Incidentally, at Hume Lake campground, there is no cellular service so there is no choice but to be present. My children have been camping since they were babies and they are used to being a little dirty and outdoors (2 qualities that I think help make you a little more well rounded). Take the portraits early in your trip. Procrastination leads to tired and uncooperative kids and can result in no portrait photos of your kids camping. 2. Let your children bring friends camping with them. It is more fun for everyone. Children entertain themselves and enjoy having a friend included in their special family camping trip. It is a win-win. It is ... Read More about How to take better camping photos of your kids
